Profile
The number of Deaf people creating sign language films have been increasing dramatically. This is due to their affinity and technological advancements that have made creating videos easier. Also, the expansion of films created by Deaf directors and Deaf actors in the film industry has become a worldwide trend. Therefore, we invited Mr. Michael Anthony, the Festival Director for the Seattle Deaf Film Festival and Dr. Luca Des Dorides, who runs the CINEDEAF- Rome International Deaf Film Festival and would like them to tell us about the features of each festival such as festival operations, as well as the meaning and possibility of Deaf film festivals. We will have a panel discussion where the guests will portray the present and the future of Deaf Film Festivals with our MC, Mika Imai and the President of the Tokyo International Deaf Film Festival, Eri Makihara.
